北海道のストローベイルハウス～スクエア・ワン Square One: Straw Bale House in Hokkaido

2009-2010年に携わったストローベイルハウスを見に行きました。北海道東川にある個人住宅で、スクエア・ワンという名前が付られています。

On September 25-26, I visited Square One, a straw bale house in Higashikawa, Hokkaido, Japan. In 2009-2010, I helped with the construction of Square One.

北海道ストローベイルハウス～Kさん邸 K-san's Straw Bale Home in Hokkaido

今年に携わったストローベイルハウスの様子です。北海道にあるKさんの個人住宅です。ビオプラス西條デザインさんによって設計され、ストローベイル建築そうだん@hokkaidoがベイル積みを計画し、ベイル壁塗りが野田左官店の指導の下、ワークショップ形式で行いました。
In May, June and September I helped with the construction of K-san's Straw Bale Home in Hokkaido. The home was designed by BIO+ Saijo Design, construction of the straw bale walls was organized by Hokkaido's straw bale building association, and plastering was lead by Noda Plaster Works.

 

今まで携わったストローベイル現場の中で今回のワークショップがもっとも効率的で、北海道や寒冷地域でのストローベイル建築の可能性を強く感じました。施主さんをはじめ、皆さん、ありがとうございました。
The stacking and plastering of the straw bale walls was done in a workshop format. Of all the straw bale builds I've been involved in, this was probably the most efficient. Many thanks to all those involved.

ｄ＆ｂ ～ 関浦デザイン アンド Bono Bagel

 

今年の夏に広島にある関浦デザインというデザイン事務所とBono Bagelというパン工房の改装工事に携わりました。特徴がストローベイルベンチと塗り壁です。

This summer I lead the renovation of a graphic design office and bakery in Hiroshima City. Construction consisted of mainly building a partition wall with window and door, building a straw bale bench, plastering several rooms and re-finishing the floors.

また、グレー色の仕上げが欲しいという希望があったので、ベンチも壁も漆喰と淡路島の土、広島の砕石ダストで仕上げました。

For design work, the designer requested a grey interior finish. We achieved that with a plaster consisting of lime, earth, grey marble dust, hemp fiber and seaweed glue.

 床のペンキを剥がして、クリアのステンで仕上げました。 The floor was finished with clear stain.

 

お祖父さんの納屋から拾った窓です。

We also recycled an old window we found in my wife's grandparents' barn.
